Come join us as we reach out to the forgotten poor in the US. We’ll prepare you with tools for ministry and take you to the mountains to share the love and hope of Jesus with families in an Appalachian community.
Did you know that right here in the United States, people still live without electricity or running water? Appalachia is home to the most destitute communities in our nation. Poverty has a grip on families, leaving them not only with practical needs but desperate for the healing and restoration that only God can bring. Children who have been abandoned and adults who struggle with addiction need more than just food and shelter: they need the hope that Jesus gives.
We’ll host VBS-style kids ministry in the “hills and hollers” of Appalachia. Our goal is to help children see that they’re loved and valued as we connect with them through games, Bible stories, and other activities. There’s also the option of building a picnic shelter where the community can gather for Bible studies or birthday parties. But meeting people’s physical needs pales in comparison with what God wants to do on the inside. That’s why we’ll share the Good News of his love wherever we go. We’ll also offer a Bible to any family that does not have their own.
