Want to deepen your relationship with Jesus? Experience culture and learn about other countries through international travel? Discover how you’re gifted as you serve others?
The YWAM Gap Year Program in Louisville has all of this and more. You will join others with the same passion to know God more fully and together, you and your team will learn and grow as you’re taught from scripture, as you worship and pray together, and as you spend time doing life together in our missionary community.
And you’ll take that passion to the nations, sharing the love of Jesus with others, even as you’re discovering it more and more for yourself.
First Step: Go Deep
with a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS)
Start by choosing the best fit from one of our Electives for Discipleship Training Schools (DTS). Whether you’re passionate about sports, music, or just simply knowing Jesus, there’s a DTS that’s perfect for you. Each of our DTSs has a 12-week classroom phase here at our Louisville campus followed by an 8-week outreach phase which includes an overseas mission trip.

Next Step: Get Equipped
in the School of Ministry Development (SOMD)
Once your DTS is complete, you have the option of making your experience a whole year by returning for our School of Ministry Development (SOMD). SOMD is a follow-up school to the DTS, fully loaded with practical tools for ministry and growth in leadership ability. It’s a hands-on course designed to help you discover God’s call on your life and equip you for your future.
Like the DTS, the SOMD includes a 12-week classroom phase and an 8-week outreach, this time with an additional emphasis on leadership.
