sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
We could spout statistics of needs worldwide until the numbers buried us. We could share stories of broken hearts and broken lives until the hard-hearted weep. We could bang our fists on the Bible with its mandate to go. And all of that’s true and has its time and place.
But compassion is limited, needs overwhelm, and guilt is a lousy motivator. What keeps us on mission?
JESUS. He’s captured our hearts and captivated our attention. We’re convinced that he deserves the worship not just of our hearts but of every heart, the allegiance not just of our souls but of every soul. He deserves those he’s bought and fought for. He deserves to be glorified, not just by our lips and lives; he deserves all-out, global glory.
Jesus. He’s worth it. It’s as simple as that.
